Tonight’s show opens with a video package recapping the events of Victory Road, and then we go to Orlando, where we are (not) live in the Impact Zone! First things first, the new Top 10 Contender’s list is announced, and if you want the complete list you can go to TNA’s website, but the top three contenders, in descending order, are Abyss, Jeff Hardy, and Ken Anderson. Speaking of the new #1 contender, he opens the show by coming out to the ring with the nail bat and…a giant slab of beef. He tells RVD that “they” have a plan for him, and it involves him and his girl (the nail bat), and it’s beyond extreme and beyond anything he’s done in this business, EVER. A little later, he’s going to share the plan with RVD, but first, he’s awaiting some final instructions from “them”, but for now, he wants to introduce us to his girl “Janice”, who he finds tall and beautiful, sophisticated, sexy, and sharp. But there’s also a dark side to Janice that likes pain and suffering and…well, we don’t get the rest, because Abyss repeatedly hits the beef with Janice until she breaks, and then he chews a big bite of the beef from the slab, and I’m not making that up. Oh, and did he mention that she’s also one hell of a cook? But don’t worry, RVD, because before it’s all over and done with, he’s going to find out what a bitch his girl is. He chews more meat off the slab as we cut to a shot of some fat broad in the audience looking either grossed out or really hungry.

Wait a minute, there’s something going on backstage…and it’s Sarita and Taylor Wilde brawling in the back. Sarita tells Taylor that she’s finally rid of the dead weight as she repeatedly rams her into the wall, but Taylor fights back and now Sarita goes to a wall, then a big crate, but then Sarita comes back and says that everyone has always known that she’s better than Taylor. Taylor swings a pipe at Sarita and misses, and Sarita knocks her down and puts her in a nasty armbar

Taylor and Sarita have made their way out from the back and into the crowd. Taylor launches Sarita out to ringside, grabs a chair, and pastes Sarita with it. You know, Sarita’s right, she’s light years better than Taylor. Sarita grabs a water bottle and tosses the contents at Taylor, which somehow blinds her long enough for Sarita to crawl under the ring, sneak around behind Taylor, and suckerpunch her from behind. Okay, I guess the match has officially started since a ref’s there, so..

Sarita vs Taylor Wilde

Winner: Sarita

Backstage, Rob Van Dam says Abyss has a hell of a weapon, but RVD isn’t intimidated easily, so Abyss had better try his threats somewhere else. He’ll also see if Abyss is ready to use that thing tonight.

Backstage, Miss Tessmacher is shouting at someone on her cell phone, saying that when she’s in charge, they’ll be the first to go. Kevin Nash comes strolling in because he has an appointment with Eric Bischoff, but he’s conveniently absent. Hmmmmm. Miss Tessmacher asks if there’s something she can help him with, Nash says no and starts to walk away, but then comes back and says there is something she can do for him after all, and tells her that he’ll see her at 10pm tonight. She doesn’t know him very well just now, but he promises to be her last meeting of the night.

X Division Champion Douglas Williams vs Brian Kendrick

Winner: Brian Kendrick

Backstage, the Mystery Interviewer asks Nash about Jeff Jarrett, and he says he’s one of the smartest guys around, and sometime around 10 tonight we’ll get all the answers we need.

Global Champion Rob Terry vs Desmond Wolfe vs Samoa Joe

Winner: Samoa Joe

Ric Flair is backstage, and if you’re watching TNA Impact tonight, he’s going to make an announcement later on that will have huge implications that will change TNA forever, and he’ll do that because he’s Ric Flair and he can. Oh good, TNA will change forever! That’s only the five zillionth damn time I’ve heard that THIS YEAR.

World Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns vs Beer Money

Winners: Beer Money

Backstage, Abyss seems to have repaired Janice and is using her to smash a watermelon, which he then eats off of Janice. What a weird angle, but I bet Gallagher would be proud.

Matt Morgan vs D’Angelo Dinero

Winner: D’Angelo Dinero

Backstage, Lacey is trying to calm down Velvet Sky, but Velvet Sky is pissed at Madison Rayne for acting like they don’t even exist and then, on top of that, bringing in somebody from outside the group. Lacey thinks they should hear Madison’s side of the story, and Velvet says she’ll listen to it and then plant her foot up Madison’s ass.

We go back to the ring where Madison Rayne is in the ring, and formally protesting the outcome of the Knockouts Title match at Victory Road. The rules said that if Velvet or Lacey interfered, then she could lose the title on a DQ, but since neither of them were involved, she is demanding that within seven days, either the decision is reversed and she has the title returned to her, or she will sue TNA for every penny it’s worth. I can just hear the message boards lighting up with lame jokes right as I type this. Velvet Sky and Lacey Von Erich come out, and Velvet is pissed. Velvet asks Madison what makes her think she can bring in someone new, not only without their approval, but without even asking them first. Madison tells Velvet to relax and that she’s obviously been taking her dumb blond pills again. Madison did what she had to do and took matters into her own hands. Velvet says it’s not just about Madison making a decision without either of them, it’s about Madison saying that she didn’t need them anymore, and asks Madison to explain herself. Madison says fine, she doesn’t need them. Velvet says that how about she kicks Madison’s ass all over the ring right now. Lacey gets between them to break them up, and now Angelina Love comes out and asks Velvet if she honestly thinks Angelina believes anything she’s saying, because she recognized her big fake boobs in the motorcycle outfit. Velvet says if she thinks that was Velvet on the motorcycle, she was mistaken, because she obviously didn’t see the dumpy ass on that person, because clearly (indicating her ass), it wasn’t her. Velvet says that if she doesn’t believe that, then believe this: that bitch (indicating Madison) is all hers, and tells her to have at it. Velvet walks out, and Madison stands in the ring yelling at Angelina to come down and give Madison her belt back. Angelina enters the ring and asks if she wants her belt back, then tells her to come get it. Madison nails Angelina with a forearm, but Angelina drops the belt and goes after Madison. Suddenly the Bike Girl comes out on the bike and goes after Angelina ramming her to the corner and then choking her out with her boot. Madison brings a chair into the ring and picks Angelina up and DDTs her on the chair as Lacey stands helplessly on the rampway looking heartbroken over this whole unfortunate series of events. Madison and Bike Girl get on the bike and ride away.

Backstage, Jeff Hardy says that he really enjoyed watching Jay Lethal beat Ric Flair, but now he’s up against Jeff Hardy and we’ll see if Lethal can beat the Charismatic Enigma.

Jay Lethal vs Jeff Hardy

Winner: Jeff Hardy

Ric Flair is in the ring and says that Jay Lethal is first in his sights, but right now he wants to introduce the first two members of Fortune: AJ Styles and Frankie Kazarian. Desmond Wolfe comes out and says he knows Americans don’t like giving anyone else credit, but if anyone deserves to be in Fortune, it’s him. Flair blows him off, but Wolfe grabs him and repeats that he should be in Fortune. Flair tells Wolfe to keep his hands off of him, but before he can continue, Abyss’ music hits and out comes Abyss with Janice. Fortune heads for the hills, so Abyss calls out Rob Van Dam instead. Abyss tels RVD that it’s time for him to share the plans that “they” have for him: he’s said it for the past few weeks, and he’ll say it again, “they” are coming to TNA, and when “they” get here, “they” are taking TNA over, and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Abyss says that “they” have asked him to continue to pave the way for them, and in that process, “they” instructed him to take the TNA World Title off of RVD, and “they” laid out a blueprint, so he has a question for RVD. They’re going to take Janice and hang her above the ring, and then the two of them are going to have the most extreme match in the history of professional wrestling. They’re going to use whatever weapons RVD wants, but Janice told Abyss that she wants a piece of RVD’s ass. So, the only thing left is the when and the where, but how about the two of them get…EXTREME? RVD grabs the mic and says he knows what the title means to himself and everyone else, and he doesn’t want Abyss to take this personally, but the title is his, and then he attacks Abyss and lays him out with several spinkicks. RVD goes for a monkey flip but Abyss shoves RVD off and boots him in the face, then chokeslams him. Suddenly, Mick Foley comes out from the back and Abyss looks quite surprised to see him. Even more suddenly, the ECW guys come out of the crowd and attack Abyss. Security comes out to try and stop them, but Stevie and Rhino easily lay them out. Now some of the TNA wrestlers come out to try and stop them, but no dice. The two fat security guys, Desmond Wolfe, Brian Kendrick, Doug Williams, Terry Taylor, D-Lo Brown, they all come out to try and stop it to no avail. Pat Kenney and Al Snow also come out, ostensibly to try and stop the attack, but then they join up with the ECW guys. Now a whole bunch more TNA guys come running out and it turns into this giant schmozz that I can barely keep track of. Brother Devon comes out and joins the ECW side. Jeff Jarrett comes running out and starts yelling at Tommy Dreamer to get the ECW guys under control as Dixie Carter stands at ringside looking concerned. Now finally the cops come out to break it up, and Dixie Carter grabs a mic and tells everyone to stop it. She says that she invited the ECW guys and everyone stops and looks shocked as we fade to black.

Taz says he doesn’t like Wolfe’s chances because he has a big target on him. I don’t like his chances because HE’S BEEN JOBBING TO EVERY STIFF IN THE COMPANY FOR SEVEN MONTHS. As Terry and Joe take turns beating Wolfe up, Brutus Magnus comes out to join the broadcast booth. Joe with a nice enziguiri that sends Wolfe to the floor, leaving him alone with Terry. They go toe to toe and Terry takes Joe down with a shoulderblock, but Joe reverses to a rolling heel hook. Wolfe comes in and breaks it up, but Joe lays into him with chops. Wolfe yanks Joe down to the mat by the arm and kicks him to the floor, then goes after Terry, tying his leg in the ropes and kicking away at it. Joe tries to get back in the ring but Wolfe kicks him back to the floor, then turns his attention back to Terry’s knee. Wolfe with the running European Uppercut in the corner and then he…stops to yell at Chelsea. Joe rushes back in and goes after Wolfe, but Wolfe dumps him back to the floor and then goes after Terry’s knee again. Great thinking: play like he’s got a bad knee to cover for the fact that he’s an immobile slug. Wolfe goes for a spinning toehold, but Terry kicks him off into Joe and knocks him back to the floor. Terry picks Wolfe up and tosses him across the ring, then hits a pair of clotheslines and a spinkick that misses by a mile, but Joe comes off the second rope with a boot to Terry, and then locks in the Kokina Clutch on Wolfe for the tapout win.

Winner: Samoa Joe

Terry climbs back in the ring after the match and goes nose to nose with Joe, as they exchange a look of respect. We go to commercial and…hey, we’re almost at the 10 o’clock hour! I wonder what’s going to happen?

We open with a recap of the Hulk Hogan-Abyss relationship, leading up to two weeks ago when Abyss snapped and attacked Mr Anderson and Jeff Hardy, and then last week when Abyss said that “they” are coming to TNA.

We head to the Impact Zone and go right to Abyss, who is throwing chairs into the ring. He goes to ringside and menaces So Cal Val, then scares away a bunch of kids at ringside and steals their chairs, too. He goes back after Val and she tries to run away but falls down, and as Abyss stands menacingly over her, Hulk Hogan’s music hits and out he comes. He gets in the ring and calls Abyss in there with him, but before this has a chance to get interesting, Eric Bischoff comes running out and gets between them. Hogan moves him aside and turns his attention back to Abyss, who now comes into the ring, but security comes out and gets between them. Bischoff calls Abyss an ungrateful son of a bitch and slaps him, which just enrages Abyss, who lays out the security guards and goes after Bischoff. Hogan grabs a chair and lays in two shots on Abyss, but Abyss no-sells. Jeff Hardy’s music hits, Hogan fights his way out before Hardy even makes it to the ring, and Hardy lays out Abyss, throws a few chairs on him, and nails him with a Swanton. Hogan, Bischoff, and Hardy head for the hills as an enraged Abyss gets back to his feet and calls Hardy back to the ring. Hardy goes after him but security again gets in the way and talks Hardy to the back.

Tonight: AJ Styles takes on Samoa Joe in a Top 10 Contender’s Match! But before we go any further, Abyss crashes the broadcast booth and threatens Taz. Security again comes after Abyss and again he beats them up and goes back to menacing Taz as we go to commercial.

We’re back, and during the commercial break, Abyss was tearing up the backstage area. We go to Hogan and friends, who are all in agreement that Abyss has to go. Jeff Hardy wants him tonight, and Hogan says that Hardy has his number, but that’s not enough, he has to take Abyss out. Bischoff says Hardy has the match, but they’ll be out there to watch Hardy’s back.

Ink Inc vs Motor City Machine Guns

Winners: Motor City Machine Guns

Tonight: The Pope return to TNA Impact! But first, Eric Bischoff’s music hits and he comes out to let us know that tonight’s main event will be Abyss vs Jeff Hardy, and Bischoff says that we’re going to have a special referee: TNA World Champion Rob Van Dam.

Meanwhile, Dixie Carter is backstage, and she’s…WALKING…AND TALKING ON HER CELL PHONE!

We’re back and the cameraman is asking Dixie Carter what she’s doing here, but she ignores him and walks away. Oh well, let’s go back to the ring instead…

AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe

Winner: Samoa Joe

Backstage, Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, and Dixie Carter are sitting around a conference table, and Bischoff is complaining about Sting’s behavior since they came to TNA. Kevin Nash comes in and they kick him out. Okay, then. Bischoff talks about what Sting did to him, and to Jeff Jarrett, and then Hogan asks Dixie why they’re in TNA. I was wondering the same thing, actually. Dixie says he’s there to help TNA and Hogan says thank you, then says Sting is a cancer and everyone in TNA will abandon ship if they don’t get rid of him. Bischoff says that Dixie needs to do something about Sting, so Dixie says okay, she’ll do something tonight. If she’s going to make this decision, she needs to make the decision, so she’ll see Hogan and Bischoff later.

Desmond Wolfe vs Brian Kendrick

Winner: Brian Kendrick

Still to come, Abyss takes on Jeff Hardy with Rob Van Dam as the guest referee, and up next, the Pope returns to TNA!

Actually, first we go to a camera crew stalking Tommy Dreamer at his home in Yonkers, NY and asking him what he’s doing in TNA. He says it’s his personal time and that now’s not the time to talk.

Okay, now we go to a video package looking at the Pope, and then head to the ring for an in-ring promo with the Pope. Pope thanks us because it’s moments like this that make him realize that when he comes out and busts his butt in the ring, it’s worth every minute of it, and he couldn’t have done it without the entire congregation. Pope says they asked if this could really be the return of the Pope, and Pope says to mark it on your calendar, because at 80% he still has the responsibility of being the Pope of the congregation. He wants to let Ken Anderson know that he hasn’t forgotten about him, and he’s pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes, but if he thinks for a second that Pope doesn’t know how to get down, Pope will reference him to one person: Suicide. At 80%, he is still kicking on all cylinders because he is the cadillac of professional wrestling. Pope is here for one reason: to earn his way back to the #1 contender’s position so that he can take on the TNA World Champion and make history. Everyone here knows that Pope…is…pimpin’! Oh wait, Kurt Angle’s music hits and here he comes. Angle wants to welcome the Pope back, and he and the congregation have been making a lot of noise, and Angle’s a big fan because he sees Pope as the future of TNA. But Angle is also trying to climb the rankings for a shot at the TNA World Title, and unfortunately, their paths have crossed, so at Victory Road it’s going to be Pope vs Kurt Angle. Angle says that Pope has everything to gain and nothing to lose, but Angle has everything to lose because his first loss could be his last match. He wants to shake Pope’s hand and say may the best man win. Oh, and one more thing: Angle must be victorious.

We now go to a video package recapping the build to the Jay Lethal-Ric Flair match at Victory Road, and then we head to the ring for a Jay Lethal promo. Lethal says he doesn’t respect Flair anymore, and to try and come out to fight him because his brother’s not a wrestler, but he is and he’s not going to stand for this. Instead, out comes Matt Morgan and he says that he’s sorry to interrupt Lethal like this…actually, no he’s not. Just 2 weeks ago, Flair announced that he was going to form a group called Fortune, and as it happens, Morgan was the first person Flair asked to join. He respects Flair for coming to Morgan, but he hasn’t decided what he’s going to do just yet, but there was one thing that Morgan and Flair could agree on…and he nails Lethal with the microphone and the bell rings, so it looks like we have…

Jay Lethal vs Matt Morgan

Winner: Jay Lethal

TNA Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne vs Taylor Wilde

Winner: Madison Rayne

Dixie Carter is backstage, and she’s…WALKING!

We go backstage and Sarita is beating the crap out of Taylor Wilde, she tries rolling a big crate into Taylor and Taylor moves and starts firing back, but Sarita rams her into a fence and continues the beating until security comes and breaks them up.

We go to Mike and Taz, who run down the card for Victory Road and then we go backstage to Dixie, who has found Sting. Sting says it’s about time, but Dixie says that Sting has become a cancer here in TNA and this can’t continue. Dixie has put her in a position where she has no choice, and she suspends Sting for 30 days without pay. Sting asks her if she thinks it’s about the money, and she says she knows it’s not, but asks Sting what it is about. Sting is about to tell her, but just at that moment Eric Bischoff brings security in to kick Sting out, and Sting says forget the 30 days, just make it indefinite. Security removes Sting, and Bischoff tells Dixie that she needs a bodyguard 24/7 because Sting is out of control and is dangerous.

Jeff Hardy vs Abyss, Special Referee: Rob Van Dam

Wolfe attacks Kendrick before the bell, but Kendrick turns the tide and starts going absolutely crazy firing back on Wolfe. Kendrick goes for his choke but Wolfe makes the ropes and Tullys Kendrick to the floor. Wolfe goes outside, yells at Chelsea, then nails Kendrick a couple of times and tosses him back in the ring. Wolfe with a running knee and Kendrick goes back to the floor again, so Wolfe goes after him and beats him up some more, then puts Kendrick in a neck vice while yelling at Chelsea some more and tells her that if she doesn’t like it to do something about it. Back in the ring, Kendrick with a double leg takedown but Wolfe goes to the eyes and then gets an armscissors. Chelsea’s seen enough and walks out, and Wolfe is so surprised that he gets caught in the Cobra Clutch and Wolfe taps.

Winner: Brian Kendrick

Angle with a wristlock to start, Wolfe tries to snapmare his way out, but Angle holds onto the wrist and takes Wolfe down, so Wolfe regains his feet and reverses to a hammerlock, but Angle reverses that back to the wristlock. Wolfe again tries to counter out to no avail, so he rams an elbow into Angle’s jaw and slaps on a Cobra Clutch. Angle reverses out of that to a hammerlock and Wolfe goes to the ropes, but kicks Angle in the arm on the break. He briefly stops to yell at Chelsea, and Angle uses the distraction to catch Wolfe with a hiptoss. Wolfe goes to the throat and misses a charge in the corner, but Angle charges in and Wolfe moves and allows Angle’s momentum to carry him into the ringpost. Wolfe with a wristlock and uses the hold to suplex Angle. Wolfe stops to yell at Chelsea, and again it provides a distraction that Angle uses to try a comeback, but Wolfe with a wristlock and sweeps the legs. Wolfe locks in his weirdo hammerlock that I don’t know what to call it, Angle tries to reverse to the anklelock, but Wolfe kicks his way out. Again Wolfe is distracted by Chelsea, and Angle fires in a series of rights, backdrops Wolfe, then hits an overhead belly to belly for 2. Angle goes for the Angle Slam, Wolfe reverses to an armdrag, but Angle catches him with a trilogy of German Suplexes for 2. Angle tries the Angle Slam again and Wolfe slides out the back and gets a hammerlock Divorce Court for 2. Wolfe goes for the Tower Of London, but Angle escapes and hits the Angle Slam, then locks Wolfe in the anklelock and grapevines the leg, and Wolfe taps as Chelsea stands at ringside smirking.

Winner: Kurt Angle

We open withg a recap of last week’s main event that saw Abyss snap and destroy both Jeff Hardy and Ken Anderson and then having a confrontation with Hulk Hogan as Impact went off the air. Coming off of that, we go right to the ring for the opening promo, and this week’s special guest is the Managing Partner himself, Hulk Hogan. He starts by putting the fans over for their energy, then says he’s going to start at the top and work his way down with all the issues. Starting with the issue of the #1 contender’s match last week, Hogan has decided that the main event of Victory Road will be Rob Van Dam defending the TNA World Title against Abyss, Jeff Hardy, and Ken Anderson in a three way match. Abyss’ music hits (his old, pre-American Made music) and Abyss comes out to the ring. Hogan says he has one question for Abyss: the first guy Hogan went to when he came to TNA was Abyss, and he wants to know where he is going with his actions of last week. Abyss says he doesn’t think anyone realizes the seriousness of what’s going on, because what happened last week and what he will continue to do, he is doing for one reason: because THEY told him to. They were the ones who told him to break Jeff Hardy in half and destroy anything that gets in his path. They’re coming, and they’ll be here sooner than Hogan thinks, and when they get here, there is nothing that Bischoff, Dixie, or Hogan are going to be able to do to stop it. Hogan tells him to cut the crap because they cut a deal: Hogan needed his help, Abyss gave him his word, and…Abyss cuts him off and says that they told Abyss that he doesn’t need Hogan anymore. Hogan wants to know who THEY are, and Abyss says that’s something he knows and Hogan will find out soon enough. Abyss says he doesn’t need Hogan or the red and yellow anymore. Hogan says there is no they, there’s the two of them and the TNA fans, and Abyss tells Hogan to remember one thing: there’s not a damn thing any of these sheep (the fans) can do about it, and when they get here, they are taking TNA over, and by the way, they also told Abyss that he doesn’t need Hogan’s garbage ring anymore. Abyss chokes Hogan and crams the ring down Hogan’s throat. Abyss chokes Hogan out in the corner, then goes under the ring and pulls out a bag that contains…the glass. Come on, does anyone really expect Hogan to take a bump on the glass? Indeed, RVD’s music hits and the champ comes running out to make the save. RVD goes up for the corner punches, but Abyss powerbombs him and then goes back after Hogan, and now here comes Ken Anderson with a chair, which he slams over the back of Abyss. Abyss no sells, so Anderson bails to the floor and pulls RVD and Hogan out after him, and after Hogan spits up the ring, they head back to the entranceway as Abyss proclaims that “they’re coming”.

After a commercial, we come back to a recap of the Abyss attack on Hogan that we just saw, then we go backstage to Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff, and Hogan’s saying he doesn’t understand where he went wrong with Abyss. Bischoff can’t figure it out either because he never thought Abyss was that kind of guy who would turn on someone for no reason. Hogan suggests it might be Flair, but Bischoff doesn’t think so, and says that they should move on, but Hogan says not yet.

We go to the Beautiful People’s dressing room where Madison Rayne is primping in the mirror, and Madison asks Velvet Sky if she’s gone to visit Lacey Von Erich yet, and then drops a remark about Lacey being used to being on her back. Velvet is standing there sulking and isn’t talking, so Madison gets in her face and tells her that she needs to get her head on Angelina Love or it’ll be her getting carried out on a stretcher tonight.

Angelina Love vs Velvet Sky

Winner: Velvet Sky by DQ

here Jay Lethal has a visitor. I don’t recognize him, but he seems impressed that Lethal’s wrestling Flair at Victory Road. Lethal sends the guy to catering so he can finish getting ready for his match tonight.

Backstage, Kevin Nash is telling Eric Young that he has to distance himself from Scott because he doesn’t have any choice. He’s been dealing with Hogan and Bischoff for 15 years and he doesn’t want to get in a battle with them, and appears to have dissolved his team with Young. They share a hug and Nash wishes Young luck.

Matt Morgan comes to the ring and says he told us so, he told all of us so, and that’s that he was walking out of Slammiversary victorious. He doesn’t sweat Hernandez, never has, and never will. To prove that, he’s going to call Hernandez out right now. He tells Hernandez that he knows he’s watching in the back, and to put down the burrito, come out, and face him face to face because he’s tired of being jumped from behind. The announcers inform us that Hernandez is in Mexico doing promotional work for TNA, so he obviously won’t be here. Morgan says that Hernandez obviously is afraid of him, so when TNA management asked Morgan if he wants to wrestle Hernandez in a cage at Victory Road, he jumped at the chance because now Hernandez has nowhere to run. When he beats Hernandez like a pinata at Victory Road, he’s going to come back out here on Imapct and again tell us all that he told us so. Morgan’s music plays, but Homicide comes running out and attacks Morgan. Morgan goes to the floor and Homicide tries a dive, but Morgan catches him and rams him into the ringpost, then gives him the Carbon Footprint to the head against the ringpost. Morgan looks into the camera and tells Hernandez that this is going to look like a wet dream compared to what Morgan’s going to do to him at Victory Road.

Backstage, AJ Styles is asking Ric Flair if a package came to the locker room. Flair says they have stuff to worry about tonight and he doesn’t want to hear any more about the package.

Frankie Kazarian vs Jay Lethal

Winner: Jay Lethal

Jeff Jarrett vs Sting

No Contest

Desmond Wolfe vs Kurt Angle

Winner: Kurt Angle

We go backstage to Ken Anderson, who’s talking about all the bumps, bruises, and cuts he has from last week’s incident with Abyss. He says that if Abyss wants to bring all that crap into the ring, tonight it’s Falls Count Anywhere and Anderson’s going to be ready for it.

We go to a video package looking back at Doug Williams’ history in the X Division as the X Division Champion, as well as Doug’s win over Brian Kendrick at Slammiversary. From there we go right to the ring where Doug Williams is blasting Kendrick for jumping him from behind last week and for being crazy. Williams says he holds himself to a code of conduct, and that’s to never betray his code of professionalism and sportsmanship. He says he has a responsibility as the X Division Champion, and calls Kendrick out so he can teach him a lesson about professionalism. Kendrick comes out and takes a mic from So Cal Val, and says he just needs a moment of Doug’s time. Kendrick talked to the people in charge, and he’ll be facing Williams for the X Division Title at Victory Road, and there’ll be a pair of stipulations, one for each of them. Since Williams is a high flying daredevil, it’s going to be an Ultimate X Match. The second stipulation is that you can also win by submission. Williams tells Kendrick that his nonsense won’t cause him to unprofessionally attack Kendrick like Kendrick did to him, and he suggests leaving so they can settle their matters at Victory Road. Williams goes to walk away but then tries to suckerpunch Kendrick, and Kendrick sees him coming and catches him in a Cobra Clutch with a bodyscissors.

Backstage, Abyss is saying that nobody understands the situation, but someday soon, everybody’s going to realize that he did what he did and will do what he’s going to do because THEY told him to. His wave of destruction will continue tonight with Ken Anderson because THEY told him to pave the way for them when they arrive, and there will be no stopping Abyss.

We go backstage where Jesse Neal has been laid out and Brother Ray and Shannon Moore are having a pull apart brawl. Devon grabs Ray’s shirt and says he’s tired of Ray making a fool of him. He’s warned Ray to leave the kid alone, and is warning Ray now not to test him.

Tag Team Championship Series Finals: Beer Money vs Ink Inc

Winners: Beer Money

Abyss vs Ken Anderson

Winner: Abyss

Abyss tosses Anderson out to the rampway and then follows him out. Anderson tries crawling away from Abyss, but Abyss catches him and picks him up to slam him off the stage, but Anderson escapes and tries a Mic Check off the stage, but Abyss nails him and finally chokeslams Anderson off the stage. Hulk Hogan comes out with a chair and nails Abyss from behind, but Abyss no-sells. Security comes out to try and stop Abyss, but Abyss lays them all out while Hogan stands there doing nothing. Abyss again gives Hogan the “YOU!” finger as the show goes off the air.

Tag Team Title Tournament First Round: Kevin Nash & Eric Young vs Ink, Inc

Winners: Ink Inc

We go to Taz and Mike, who again recap the events of Slammiversary, and then discuss how the Championship Committee couldn’t agree on the placement of the top three contenders in the Top Ten Rankings, so tonight we’re going to have a three way match between Mr Anderson, Jeff Hardy, and Abyss to decide the #1 Contender.

Ric Flair’s music hits, and we go to the entranceway where Flair is joined by his entire team. He’s about to make an announcement that will change the course of history in professional wrestling, and that announcement…is next!

We’re back, and Chelsea is backstage pleading with Abyss, saying that she doesn’t want to be with Desmond, she wants to be with him. Abyss says she knows the deal: it was 30 days and then she goes back to Desmond, and she’s not going to want to be around him tonight.

We head back to the ring with Flair and company, who says that he is going to reform the Four Horsemen, only they’re going to call the new group Fortune, and Fortune will change the destiny of TNA forever. He says the Horsemen were the best stable of all time because they were the best at whatever they did, whether it was wrestling or making love to the ladies. He compares each member of his group to a member of the Horsemen, including calling Desmond the Lex Luger of the group, then gets on AJ’s case about losing to Jay Lethal. This brings Lethal out in his Ric Flair gimmick, and he says that the Horsemen were the greatest group of men to ever grace God’s green earth, and it looks like the Horsemen were here, took a dump in the ring, and left. Lethal says he’s run the road with the Horsemen, and the guys in the ring are no Horsemen. Flair gets so mad at Lethal’s impression of him that he takes his coat off and throws his shoe at Lethal. Lethal responds by taking his own coat off and elbowdropping it. Flair and Lethal do their Ric Flair impersonations back and forth, right down to WOOOOing back and forth at each other. Flair seriously looks like he’s going to have a heart attack. Finally Desmond tells Lethal to shut up, because he’s not out here being a cheap imitation of the greatest wrestler to ever live, he’s making a reputation for himself, and he challenges Lethal to a match tonight, and Lethal responds by telling Desmond that Chelsea called him the 60 minute man. Flair tells Desmond that if he wins tonight, he’s the first member of Fortune, but if he loses, he’s history.

We go backstage to Lacey Von Erich getting a massage in preparation of her match with Angelina Love later tonight.

Backstage, Mr Anderson is arriving at the building and some unseen person off camera asks him if we’re going to see the real Mr Anderson tonight, and he says that depends on who we think the real Mr Anderson is.

Let’s go back to the ring for our next match…

Hernandez vs Samoa Joe

Winner: Samoa Joe

Backstage, Desmond Wolfe says that he’s going to do what AJ couldn’t and beat Jay Lethal tonight. AJ says he needs to get his life together because he treated Chelsea bad and she doesn’t want to be with him anymore, and he better beat Lethal because Flair said if he doesn’t, he’s out.

Backstage, Jeff Hardy says he doesn’t know whether he can trust Mr Anderson or not. Anderson pops his head in to say hello and Hardy calls him an asshole.

We go back to the ring with Douglas Williams, who is still the X-Division Champion, who says that Slammiversary was a time for celebration, but a time for mourning as well, as the X-Division as we knew it is dead because he killed it with one spectacular flying maneuver. From now on, the X-Division will become famous for the ground and pound style Williams is known for. He’s going to give everyone a lesson in that style right here tonight, and that leads us right into out next match…

X-Division Champion Douglas Williams vs Max Buck

Winner: Douglas Williams

Angelina Love, who says she’s been sitting out with an injury for the last six weeks, and since injuries can end it at any time, she’s not going to waste any more time. Tonight it’s Lacey Von Erich, next week it’s Velvet Sky, and then at Victory Road, she’s going to take the Knockouts Title back from Madison Rayne.

Angelina Love vs Lacey Von Erich

Winner: Lacey Von Erich by DQ

Backstage, Lethal is with Hulk Hogan saying how happy he is to be surrounded by so many famous names in TNA, and Hogan tells him that they weren’t attracted to Lethal for the impressions, they liked his energy and raw talent, and they gave him a shot and he’s come through. Lethal says he never dreamed of being in the same dressing room with guys like Hogan and Flair, but Hogan says that now that he’s up there, he’s got a target on his back so he’d better keep it up.

Christy is backstage with Jeff Hardy, who says that it’s a three way dance tonight with the winner becoming the #1 contender, and Christy asks if he can trust Anderson, but Anderson comes strolling in to interrupt and make mention of the people trying to stir the pot. He asks how many times he got in fights with his brother as kids and then worked it all in the end, and Hardy said he did. Tonight they’re going to have to do what they have to do as men, but no hard feelings. They do the fist pound and Hardy says it’s all good.

Tag Team Title Tournament First Round: Team 3D vs Beer Money

Winners: Beer Money

Backstage, Desmond Wolfe tells Chelsea he’s a ticking time bomb, but tonight she’s got a chance to redeem herself.

Desmond Wolfe vs Jay Lethal

Winner: Jay Lethal

First though, the new Top Ten Rankings are released, and they went by too quickly for me to transcribe them, but the top three will, of course, be decided in tonight’s main event.

Jeff Jarrett is in the ring and he calls out Sting, who comes out to the ring. Jeff asks “Steve” to take his sunglasses off because he wants him to hear what Jarrett says tonight, and also look in his eyes and see that he can hear and feel what he’s saying. Jarrett’s not going to ask him why again, he called him out to remind him of one thing: that it was Jarrett who called Sting when he first started TNA. He wanted Sting’s leadership and professionalism and his iconic status, and he didn’t want Sting to work for him, he wanted Sting to work with him. For the last 8 years, they’ve given as much as they could for TNA, and even though they haven’t always been on the same side of the fence, they’ve always treated each other with dignity, respect and honor, but that all ended at Sacrifice. Sting was hellbent on ending Jarrett’s career and destroying his livelihood, but he wants to tell Steve Borden that he made one mistake: he left Jeff Jarrett standing. He asks Sting if he thinks this is funny, but next week it won’t be a laughing matter when their rematch goes down. Jarrett knows what this is all about and Sting does too, and Sting is 100% wrong about both of them, because both of them (Hogan and Bischoff) have given their all for TNA since they got here, and next week Jarrett’s not just going to be fighting for himself and his family, but he’ll be fighting for Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan, and most importantly he’s going to be fighting for the TNA fans. And with that, Jarrett walks off as Sting suddenly looks less confident than he did before.

Wolfe jumps Lethal before the bell and knocks him off the top rope to the floor. Desmond goes out and yells at Chelsea, then rolls Lethal back in the ring as Tommy Dreamer comes out into the crowd. Wolfe with an arm snap and then stops to yell at Chelsea some more, allowing Lethal the opportunity to get some shots in. Wolfe lays him out again and yells at Chelsea some more and she goes to leave, but she trips and falls down and Desmond goes out to stand over her and run her down some more. Again this opens up an opportunity for Lethal to nail him and toss him back in the ring. Lethal with a leg lariat and a handspring elbow, then a pop up neckbreaker gets the win for Lethal.

Winner: Jay Lethal

Lethal goes out into the crowd to celebrate with the fans as Tommy Dreamer applauds. Wolfe attacks Lethal from behind as he comes back to ringside and tosses him back in the ring, continuing to beat Lethal down. Ric Flair comes out to the ring and Wolfe holds Lethal as Flair beats him up and lowblows him. Hulk Hogan’s music hits and out comes Hogan, and Flair and Wolfe bail out to the floor as Hogan gets in the ring. Hogan shakes his finger at Flair and raises Lethal’s hand, then takes the mic and says that TNA is on fire right now because of guys like Jay Lethal. Who would have ever dreamed that a little Hulkamaniac would grow up in Elizabeth, New Jersey and then grow up to become a big time wrestler himself. Hogan has an announcement and calls Ric Flair back out, he tells him that he’s been a thorn in Lethal’s side for a long time now, and the little boy grew up to be a great big man, and now he’s going to make a man’s dream come true, because at Victory Road, it’s going to be Ric Flair vs Jay Lethal.

Wolfe was accompanied by Chelsea, since her 30-days with Abyss are now over. Abyss started tossing weapons in the ring as soon as he came out. They went right at it, with Wolfe missing with a kendo stick shot and Abyss hitting a boot to the face. Abyss went for a chair, but Wolfe kicked it in his face. Wolfe wedged the chair in a corner, then hit Abyss in the gut with a kendo stick. Abyss reversed a whip and Wolfe went for a leapfrog, but Abyss caught it and hit a side slam for a two count.

Abyss went under the ring and pulled out a barbed wire board, tossing it into the ring. Abyss put it in a corner, but Wolfe hit Abyss with some forearms. Wolfe went to whip Abyss into the chair in a corner, but Abyss put on the brakes. Wolfe chargeed, Abyss moved and Wolfe went head first into the chair. Abyss went and got two trash cans. As Abyss was getting in the ring, Wolfe kicked the middle rope into Abyss’ groin. Wolfe hit Abyss with a pair of trash can shots. Wolfe yelled something to Chelsea, that you couldn’t make up.

Wolfe went into a trash can, and pulled out a teddy bear wrapped in barbed wire. Wolfe asked out loud if this was some kind of joke. Abyss bodyblocked Wolfe, driving the barbed wire teddy bear into Wolfe’s midsection. I should note, Wolfe still has his shirt on. Abyss went to ringside and presented the barbed wire bear to Chelsea, then sort of barked at her. Abyss pulled out a bag and got back in the ring. Abyss emptied the bag, which was filled with broken glass, in the ring. Wolfe said “I didn’t sign up for this” and left. Abyss followed, and Wolfe used Chelsea as a shield. Wolfe grabbed a kendo stick and hit Abyss as he was distracted by Chelsea.

Wolfe pulled Abyss over the the staging area, then up on a platform. Wolfe held up the stick and said “Now he dies!” buy Abyss grabbed Wolfe by the throat and chokeslammed him, breaking up part of the platform when he landed. Wolfe was convulsing. Abyss dragged Wolfe to the ring and covered him, but Wolfe got his foot on the bottom rope at the two count. Abyss put the barbed wire board in the ring, and set up Wolfe for a superplex. Wolfe fought out of it, then used a sunset flip-style powerbomb off the top rope to sent Abyss into the barbed wire board. Abyss’ arm was sliced open. Wolfe got a two count.

Wolfe grabbed a kendo stick and hit Abyss in the head twice, but missed on the third try. Abyss grabbed Wolfe and hit the Shock Treatment backbreaker for a two count. Abyss picked up Wolfe off the mat, but Wolfe hit a knee to the midsection. Wolfe hit Abyss with a kendo stick shot to the back of the head, and Abyss fell down, face first, into the broken glass. Abyss was bleeding from the head. Wolfe still couldn’t put Abyss away. Wolfe told Chelsea to give him her purse. Chelsea reluctantly gave it to Wolfe. Wolfe opened the purse, but the brass knuckles weren’t in it. Wolfe asked where the knucks were, and Chelsea had them in her hand. She then tossed the knucks over Wolfe, to Abyss. Abyss hit Wolfe with the knucks, then finished off Wolfe with a Black Hole Slam for the pin at the 12-minute mark.

Winner: Abyss.
