PWInsider.com reports that Abyss will need dental surgery to repair his bottom row of teeth, which were badly damaged during his match with Rob Van Dam during Tuesday’s Impact tapings. Abyss took an errat springboard kick from RVD to cause the injury.

TNA IMPACT 2011.03.31 Results

We open with a look back at the finish of last week’s episode with Ken Anderson wanting to be the #1 contender so badly that he suckerpunched the referee, leading to a backstage fight between Anderson and Sting.

Speaking of Anderson, he opens the show by dragging Earl Hebner out to the ring, and I bet he’s got some officiating questions for him. He asks Hebner to tell all the assholes why he disqualified him last week (I guess he must have found out in the week since that it was Hebner, marking the first time in wrestling history that somebody talked to their co-workers when they weren’t on TV). Hebner says his shirt stands for authority and respect and Anderson better give it to him, so Anderson pushes him a few times. Hebner threatens to suspend him for at least 90 days if he touches him again, and he says that he disqualified him a week ago and if he doesn’t like it, tough s***, and he disqualified Anderson because he put his hands on Sting. Anderson tells Hebner that he’s provoking him and if he doesn’t reverse the decision right now, he’ll do something that he swears on his father’s grave that he will enjoy, but Hebner won’t. Hebner says the decision stands and calls Anderson an asshole, so Anderson knees him in the gut and goes for the Mic Check, but Brian Hebner runs in to his dad’s rescue and Anderson backs off and mocks him for helping his dad out. Anderson asks if he’s going to screw him like his dad screwed him, and everybody knows he’s been in the business of screwing people for a long time. Anderson sticks his chin out and dares Earl to punch him, but Sting’s music hits so everybody freezes while he walks out.

Sting tells the Hebners to leave and tells Anderson that instead of picking on referees, maybe he ought to pick on him. Anderson says that he’s in Asshole Country and if Sting steps up to him, he’s stepping up to all of them. Sting says he’s just here to disrespect Anderson, and he attacks him, leading to the Snow-Kenney Collective rushing in to separate them. Rob Van Dam’s music hits and he comes out to tell Anderson that if he really believes that he can beat him and getting disqualified stopped him from doing it, then he’ll give up his win last week and tells Earl to make it a three way. Hebner says he can’t do it because he doesn’t have the power to reverse decisions (wait, WHAT???), but Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff come out and Hogan says that RVD’s request is a done deal and it’ll be a three way at Lockdown. Bischoff stops Hogan and says he has another great idea: since the network wants ratings, he’ll put Sting, RVD, and Anderson together in a six man tag against Abyss, Matt Hardy, and “Bubba” (I assume he means Bully Ray, I have no idea who this Bubba is) and it’ll happen in a steel cage. Sting and Anderson respond by fighting again until the Snow-Kenney Collective pull them apart again.

he Mysterious Cameraman is following Ken Anderson around, and Anderson tells “Jason” that he has no comment and tells him to get lost. We then go to RVD who says he knows how to keep things in balance and he’s not worried tonight because he gets to take care of all his opponents and maybe even a couple of his partners. We then go to Sting who says that Anderson disrespected him and he’s going to get an apology before the night’s out.

ackstage to Ink Inc and Shannon Moore says he disrespected Scott Steiner because he wears a stupid headdress. Steiner isn’t cool and he’s not what the younger generation wants to see, and he doesn’t have any respect for Scott Steiner. We then go to Steiner, who says that throwing his headpiece at him and running like a bitch isn’t disrespect, Steiner bitchslapping someone at a bar or taking Moore’s girlfriend home and doing her all night is disrespect. Tonight’s match is going to be a beatdown, and he’ll show Moore some disrespect.

head over to THE OFFICE where Jeff Jarrett is protesting to Hulk Hogan about letting him get in a cage with Kurt Angle at Lockdown. Hogan says that the Rob Terry thing is going to happen tonight, and Karen asks what “Rob Terry thing” they’re talking about, and Hogan tells Jeff to smarten her up. TNA, where we love our insider lingo!

Anderson is telling a poster of himself that Sting wants an apology, and the poster says “Sting can go f*** himself.

Jarretts who are looking at the same Anderson poster, and Karen is whining about what happens if the Rob Terry Plan doesn’t work, and reminds Jeff that he agreed to a cage match against Kurt at Lockdown as an example of what an in control professional he is. Jeff says “You’re always worried about the minutae, aren’t you?” He cracks me up.

video package with Max and Jeremy Buck saying angry words to each other, so I guess they split up and are going to wrestle each other tonight. Okay, I get that it makes sense for things to not always wait for TV for things to happen, but let’s not leave half the story off the band.

We go to a video package recapping the history of Winter and the Beautiful People, then we’re off to the ring…

TNA’s attention span is almost nonexistent, so we’re quickly on to the next segment as Ken Anderson comes out to the ring with a microphone and calls Sting out. Sting joins Anderson for some thoughtful political discussion, which begins with Anderson asking if he wants an apology. Sting nods yes, so Anderson says that normally he’s an asshole, but he’ll do something he doesn’t normally do and extends his hand out to Sting…then suckerpunches him, leading to another brawl that spills out of the ring and around ringside, through the crowd, across the balcony, back down and through the crowd where Sting rams Anderson into the wall. Anderson returns the favor by ramming Sting into the wall, and they head back over the guardrail to ringside. Sting starts kicking Anderson’s ass and rams him into the stairs until Abyss, Matt Hardy, and Bully Ray run out and attack the both of them. Bully Ray goes after Sting’s leg, ramming it into the ring apron repeatedly and putting him in a toe lock, then takes him into the ring and bashes him in the face with a microphone several times as Abyss and Hardy work Anderson over on the floor. RVD’s music hits and he runs out and goes after Bully Ray and clears him out of the ring, looks at Abyss and Hardy beating Anderson up, then turns and walks away while Anderson continues to get beaten down. Hardy and Abyss roll Anderson back into the ring and Sting nails him, as Immortal rounds up the troops and backs off.

ocker room where Karen Jarrett is on the phone frantically telling who I presume to be the cops that Kurt Angle is coming after her with a weapon as Jeff bangs his hands on the lockers and other stuff behind her to simulate what Kurt Angle must sound like when he’s angry at Karen.

backstage to Ric Flair with Immortal, and they’re celebrating what just happened and act very confident about their chances tonight.

Velvet Sky, who complains about Winter being a bitch and trying to break up the likes of the Beautiful People. What, there’s more like Angelina Love? Oh yay. “Jason” asks Velvet if she’s ever seen Angelina act like this, and Velvet says no and she believes that Winter has a hold over her, and it’s her duty to help out Angelina and get her out of the trance she’s in because she’s had enough of Winter and her bulls***.

Kurt Angle comes striding out to the ring and grabs a mic, and tells Jeff Jarrett that he’s tired of this bulls*** and wants him to get out here now because he’s not waiting for Lockdown. Jeff Jarrett’s music hits and Jarrett emerges from the back…with Rob Terry. Angle shakes his head and I can’t help but agree with him. Okay, I guess this is a mystery opponent match, so here goes…

Backstage, Fortune tries to make sense of what’s going on with Sting, RVD, Anderson, and Immortal.

Matt Hardy, Abyss & Bully Ray vs Sting, Ken Anderson & Rob Van Dam

ake a look back at the drawn out beating we just saw and Daniels’ return, then we go to the locker room where Ric Flair asks who the hell that was who just got involved in Immortal’s business and calls him a 140 pound loser. Immortal is really angry and yell about all the things they’re going to do to them at Lockdown.

Fortune locker room as Daniels says that he wasn’t going to let Immortal put AJ Styles and go around bragging about it. The next time there’s blood on his hands, it’ll be Bully Ray’s. Kazarian says they’re all willing to sacrifice for AJ Styles, and AJ will be out indefinitely, but their boy Daniels will back them up. Daniels says the blood on his hands is what TNA was built on because they built TNA from the ground up, and Immortal is out of their minds if they think they’re going to turn tail and run.

Over to Sting, who says that tonight was just a warmup because at Lockdown, they’ll find out who the true veteran is. Jason follows Anderson around and INTO HIS TRAILER, and Anderson starts bitching again about how he’s been getting screwed, but Rob Van Dam runs in and beats the crap out of him and thanks him for tonight. RVD leaves and Anderson is left howling angrily as we fade to black.

Sting attacks Anderson on the rampway during his entrance and lays him out with a suplex as Immortal nails RVD and drags him into the cage. Sting follows and takes out the entire Immortal team by himself, hitting multiple Stinger Splashes while giving RVD time to recover. Sting lays Hardy out with a clothesline while Anderson takes his time recovering on the outside. Bully Ray nails Sting and puts the boots to him then goes after RVD. Anderson pulls up a chair and takes a seat at ringside

Bully Ray lays Sting out with a clothesline as Hardy gives RVD a neckbreaker and then Ray drops a knee on RVD’s nuts. Hogan’s music hits and he comes out wearing his back brace and tells Anderson to get in the cage. Anderson ignores him so Hogan calls him an asshole and tells him to get into the cage. Anderson pulls back to nail him, but Hogan backs off, citing his back brace…and then suckerpunches Anderson, rams him into the cage, and tosses him into the cage where Sting beats him senseless and rams him into the cage. With that out of the way, he now goes back to getting beaten up by Immortal. Bully Ray stands on Anderson’s face and talks crap to him as Flair yanks RVD’s ponytail from the outside, then turns and goes after the cameraman. Immortal is just trashing Sting in the cage until Hardy covers him but only gets 2, so Hardy hits a snapmare into a three quarter nelson and, for some reason, RVD and Immortal went back to their corners to await tags. I love when they change the rules halfway through a match. Sting fights back and tries to make the tag, but Hardy drags him back to the Immortal corner and tags out to Abyss for some more abuse. Bully Ray and Abyss have some miscommunication and Sting lays them out with a double clothesline and makes the hot tag to RVD, who comes in and clears everyone out with spinkicks, clotheslines, and dropkicks. RVD with a top rope thrust kick to Abyss and goes for the Five Star, but Anderson pushes RVD off the top rope. Bubba capitalizes by hitting the Bubba Bomb and covers RVD for the win.

Winners: Immortal

Anderson immediately ducks out of the cage and heads to the back, leaving Sting and RVD alone to get beaten up by Immortal. Fortune’s music hits and they come running out to even the odds, but Immortal gets the upper hand and Flair locks the cage door as Bully Ray whips Sting with a chain and Hardy hits the Side Effect on James Storm. Ray chokes Storm out with the chain as Hardy repeatedly drills Kazarian in the head, busting him open, then lays him out with the Twist Of Hate. Hardy with a Twist Of Hate for Roode as Abyss chokeslams Kazarian and Bubba goes over and grinds the chain into Kazarian’s face after.

Suddenly, Christopher Daniels breaches his ROH contract by coming out of the crowd, climbing the cage and wiping Immortal out with a flying bodypress off the top of the cage and we go to commercial as Hunter Johnston starts planning how he’s going to bury Daniels.

TNA IMPACT 2011.01.13 Results

The show opens with a video looking back at Genesis as Jeff Jarrett beat Kurt Angle bloody, and we get comments from Angle saying that the whole thing was a setup and while he didn’t win at Bound For Glory, he didn’t exactly lose either so he’s going to let the powers that be do their thing. We then look at Ken Anderson beating Matt Morgan and then getting thrown right into a title match with Jeff Hardy that he won thanks to the help of Matt Morgan, who now wants the first title shot. Anderson says that the belt Hardy had wasn’t the World Title, it’s just a piece of crap that Hardy drew.

We go to the garage as, earlier today, Jeff Jarrett shows up with Karen Ang- I mean, Jarrett as they get out of a limo, share a kiss, and head into the building.

We then go to the Impact Zone where new TNA World Champion Ken Anderson comes out to address the fans for the first time as champion. He says he spent six and a half years busting his ass and living rough to secure a job with a major wrestling company, and he did…over there. He had a rocket ship up his ass and beat ten World Champions in a short time and was destined to be a champion himself, but then a birdie got in the boss’ head and he said (in a Triple H voice) that Ken may be a little too funny and not ready for the big time. He says that everything he does, he was told not to do. He was told how to walk, act, and dress, but then we fast forward to a phone call from Eric Bischoff, who says that he knows what he went through, the potential he has, and if he came to TNA he would take the training wheels off and let him be himself, and Hogan, Bischoff, Dixie, and Vince Russo allowed him to be the asshole he is today. (asshole chant starts) And by the way, this asshole just became the World Champion, and he’s not saying he could have done it without the fans, but he does want to thank those assholes. There’s also one more asshole he’d like to thank, and he invites Matt Morgan down to the ring. Morgan comes out to join him and Anderson says they haven’t always seen eye to eye, but he stepped up for him when it meant the most, and for that he thanks Morgan. Morgan responds by saying that the only reason he’s wearing that title around his waist right now is because he let himself down at Genesis, and he hasn’t been able to eat or sleep for the last week trying to figure out when he’s going to get his next title shot. He respects Anderson for getting the title, but Anderson has to respect that Morgan is a straight shooter too, and it doesn’t matter who has the title, he’s going to become the champion because he’s spent the last ten years busting his ass to go down as the best giant of all time in this business. He doesn’t have that without that title, so right now he wants Anderson to know that he’s coming for that title and 2011 will be the year of the blueprint. But this isn’t about Morgan, this is Anderson’s night and these are his assholes, and he wants Anderson to know that he earned every ounce of that title, and then shakes Anderson’s hand and leaves. Eric Bischoff’s music hits and asks Anderson who he thinks he is for rewriting history, and he was only right about one thing: he’s only here because of Bischoff, Hogan, and Flair, and the only thing he accomplished was putting a bullseye on his back, and if he thinks they’re going to put up with him as World Champion, they’re sadly mistaken because on February 3rd on the live Impact, he’s going to face Jeff Hardy in a rematch, and Hulk Hogan’s going to get out from under his legal entanglement with Dixie Carter and Anderson can go back to being a nobody. Anderson backs Bischoff into a corner and asks if he’s trying to intimidate him, but Jeff Hardy comes up on screen and says that Anderson didn’t win anything and he only has the title as a result of a mistake by the family, and the title will be his again on the live Impact. Rob Van Dam comes running into the stage and attacks Jeff Hardy, but Matt Hardy runs in and attacks Van Dam. Anderson runs to the back to try and make the save, but now the entire group of Immortal and Fortune comes in and beats Anderson and Van Dam 352-on-2.

We go to commercial, and when we get back we take a look at moments ago when that brawl broke out backstage, and as a result of that fight, the Hardys will reunite as a team for the first time in three years as they take on Ken Anderson and Rob Van Dam. Also, Kurt Angle will be here tonight and we get to see the fun when he finds out Karen is here.

We go backstage where Jeff Jarrett asks Karen if she’s ready for this, and she says she’s been sitting at home for two years waiting for this moment, and she’s ready for it.

Beer Money vs Motor City Machine Guns

Jeff Jarrett is backstage and visibly nervous about what’s going to happen tonight, and then we go out to the garage where Kurt Angle is arriving at the Impact Zone.

Rob Van Dam is backstage complaining to Ken Anderson that he had his hands on Jeff Hardy and he got away, and they say they need to end this and they can do that by fighting all of Immortal one by one. Van Dam agrees, and Anderson says they’re going to need some tools. They root around in a pile of junk backstage, and Anderson comes up with a chair that he hands to Van Dam and then grabs himself a 2×4 and they go off to hunt some Immortal.

We head back to the ring for promo time with the Pope, and he says he’s out here to address some things over the last several weeks that involve Samoa Joe monitoring Pope while he attended to the business of the Congregation. Pope was making a difference, and he insists that he’s the Pope they follow and should continue to follow, and even with what Joe did, Pope forgives him, but he wants to know is whether Joe would be as forgiving if Pope was following Joe around on his own time? What if Pope was following Joe and his wife around? Because he was, and he’s going to show some footage of Joe and his wife now, and he directs our attention to the Dixietron where we see two pigs having relations (I guess that’s supposed to be Joe and his wife), and then also has footage of Joe’s wife attending to his children (pigs milking on their pig mother), and this footage motivates Joe to come out to the ring to have a word with Pope. Pope bails out of the ring as Joe enters, and he says that Pope’s got jokes, but the funny thing is that for a guy who says he’s pimpin’, he sure does run like a bitch and Joe doesn’t chase bitches. This lends credence to what Joe’s always said about him: he’s a phony, fraud, and pretender, and instead of chasing him around the arena and giving him the beating he deserves, he’s going to leave Pope with a promise: at some point when Pope least expects it, he’s going to get his hands on Pope, and when that happens, Joe is gonna kill you. Pope looks scared, then unconcerned as he backs up the rampway and pretends he’s not scared of Joe.

We go backstage to Van Dam and Anderson as they catch up with Beer Money in the Immortal locker room and close the door behind them before beating them down with their implements of destruction. They come out afterwards and thank them, then go looking for the Hardys.

We go back to Eric Bischoff’s office as Bischoff is telling Ric Flair and AJ Styles that Hogan is not happy about Anderson getting the title, and AJ offers to soften him up but Flair says that he wants Styles to heal because they need AJ at full strength. They go into the next room and find a beaten up Beer Money, who inform Bischoff that Van Dam and Anderson did this. Flair says that if it’s a war they want, it’s a war they’re going to get.

We look at a video package looking back at the history of the bad blood between Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle, and then we go to comments from moments ago where Jarrett said nobody was supposed to get hurt at Genesis, but Kurt took it too far and Angle ended up getting hurt. The invisible interviewer asks what’s going to happen tonight, and Jarrett says he’s going to go out there nd hang up his MMA boots and he’s going to do it the only way he would want to: with his beautiful wife standing beside him. He just asks her not to lose her temper, to which she says no problem because she’s cool as a cucumber.

We also get comments from Kurt Angle, who says he hears his ex-wife is here and that they have some catching up to do.

We head back out to the ring as Jeff Jarrett and Karen Angle make their way to the ring for Jarrett’s retirement ceremony. Jarrett says that they’re here to celebrate the career of an undefeated MMA fighter, one who has never been taken down or come close to submitting in any of his fights. He made an example of Kurt Angle at Genesis even though it was only an exhibition, but he chose not to injure Angle even though he could have. Behind every great warrior, fierce competitor, hellbent mercenary, and man of war, there’s always a great woman, and he introduces his wife, the lovely and vivacious Mrs Karen Jarrett. Wait a minute, that’s Kurt Angle’s music! Angle comes out and Team Jarrett goes after him and he goes through all of them on his way down the ramp before getting in the ring and suplexing Gunner and Muffin out of their boots and then standing face to face with Jarrett. Jarrett gets ready to fight him when Karen Angle comes out and shrieks at them to stop, she has sat at home for two years while they’ve played games with their lives, but next week, everyone will hear her give her side of the story and it’ll be a night that Kurt Angle will never forget.

We go to commercial, and when we come back we take a look at the confrontation we just saw, then go to Angle in the back as he trashes the backstage area and says a bunch of stuff that gets bleeped out. The only words I caught that got through were “don’t need this”, “career”, and “Dixie”.

We take a look back at Genesis when Madison Rayne knocked Mickie James out with a foreign object, and then we see Angelina Love & Velvet Sky arguing about Winter, and Angelina says even she can’t explain what’s going on when Winter grabs her and drags her out to the ring for our next match…

backstage to Matt Hardy, who says that this business is about stepping on people and taking what you want, and Jeff says that they’re brothers and they’re a couple of thieves who are walking around with a belt that has his face on it. Hardy says that what they don’t realize is that they’re brothers and their bloodline is Immortal.

someone I didn’t recognize got ahold of Abyss backstage and choked him with a cord and told him to tell Bischoff that he was right and THEY are coming on February 3rd. We go out to Mike Tenay and Taz, who inform us that it was Amazing Red’s brother who we met a few weeks ago, and that his name is apparently Crimson, but who does he work for?

We go to the Immortal locker room as Abyss walks in on a pep talk and tells Eric Bischoff that he needs to tell him something, and Bischoff says not now because he’s delivereing a speech. Abyss obediently goes and stands in a corner and Bischoff finishes the usual speech and then, after everyone leaves, Abyss tells Bischoff and Flair what just happened, but Bischoff and Flair don’t seem worried.

Abyss vs Matt Morgan tna 2011.01.13

This match is non-title. They start fighting the second Morgan gets in the ring and Morgan lays Abyss out with a clothesline and then hit the rapid fire elbows in the corner. Morgan continues stomping Abyss out in the corner and sets up for the Carbon Footprint, but Flair grabs Morgan’s ankle from the floor and Abyss hits him with a running charge into the corner. Morgan tries a charge but Abyss puts him down with a big clothesline and then chokes him on the ropes. Flair gets in a cheapshot from the floor and Abyss tries a charge but Morgan hits a discus clothesline, Stinger Splash in the corner, then another one, and Abyss goozles him and tries a chokeslam but Morgan fights his way out and hits the Carbon Footprint. Ric Flair tries to drag Earl Hebner out of the ring so he can’t make the count, but Hebner kicks him off and makes the count.

Winner: Matt Morgan

Rob Terry runs in and brawls with Morgan until Flair low blows Morgan and the Immortal members beat him down.

TNA PPV GENESIS 2011 Results

Backstage, Ric Flair and AJ Styles informed Eric Bischoff that AJ Styles wouldn’t be able to wrestle tonight. Bischoff was pissed and said that after what Dixie Carter has pulled and Hulk Hogan’s back surgery, they needed to win all the titles tonight. He demanded Styles explain what happened. AJ said that it’s been an issue bothering him for some time and he ended up hurting it when his kid took a spill on his 4×4. Bischoff went nuts, saying that’s what babysitters are for. I wonder if this verbiage was Vince Russo channeling the comments that caused him to leave WWE for a moment. Bischoff warned Styles he had better show him something because now he’s out 6 to 8 weeks and is useless. Styles was pissed and threw stuff off of Bischoff’s desk. Flair told Styles to get off the leg and said none of this will accomplish anything. He said to Bischoff that Eric is a smart man and will think of something. The delivery from all three was great. Say what you will about Bischoff but he’s a hell of a promo in his role.

Backstage, Kazarian celebrated his title win. Ric Flair said that it was one title down, two to go. He and Beer Money left. Christ Hemme asked Eric Bischoff who the mystery opponent and who would replace AJ Styles. Bischoff announced Abyss would replace AJ, but said the mystery opponent would remain that until match time. He then guaranteed that Fortune would win every TNA title tonight.

Christy Hemme interviewed Devon. Devon told Bubba that it was the night he get to spew his garbage about who carried Team 3D. Christy Hemme interviewed Jeff Jarrett about his MMA exhibition and asked about his strategy. Jarrett mocked Kurt Angle’s credentials as a pro MMA fighter and said he’s never had an MMA fight. Jarrett said he was undefeated in MMA and has $100,000 of his own money to prove it. Jarrett laid out that there are three rounds and said Angle was rusty has he hasn’t been in the ring in six months, while Jarrett has the best cardio in wrestling history, including Angelo Poffo and Bob Backlund. That is hilarious. Jarrett said he was going to feel Kurt out in round one, show him how many times he could submit Kurt in round two and then let him wonder what’s coming in round three.

Backstage, Eric Bischoff was with Rob Van Dam. RVD said that it doesn’t matter who it is in the ring because if it’s not Hardy, it’s a waste of time. He told Eric to do the right thing and make the match. Bischoff told him that if he wanted Hardy, he’s got Hardy.

Douglas Williams vs. Abyss TNA GENESIS 2011

Williams tried to take down Abyss but was overpowered early. The story is that Williams trained for Styles and well, Abyss is a different type of wrestler. Williams’ wrist was taped up. Williams tried to nail a high cross bodyblock but was caught. He sidestepped an Abyss charge into the corner and covered him but no dice.

Abyss ducked a charge and sent Williams into the ringpost shoulder-first. Abyss grabbed the taped wrist and slammed it into the ringpost. Abyss continued to work on the wrist, slamming it into the stairs. Back in the ring, Williams kicked away Abyss but got caught coming off the ropes. Williams escaped a chokeslam but was nailed with a discus clothesline.

Williams came back with several forearms but was cut off with a knee to the mid-section and sent into the barrier. Fans were chanting they wanted Styles. This hasn’t gotten out of first gear yet. Abyss teased hitting Williams with the belt but was stopped. Abyss tossed Williams into the ring and stomped the hand.

Abyss continued working on the hand and the arm, then chopped away Abyss continued with punches but Williams fought back with forearms. Williams came off the ropes with an European uppercut, knocking Abyss to the mat.

Williams began working on Abyss with uppercuts and headbutts, followed by a running knee lift. He went for a Gernan suplex but Abyss broke free. Williams ducked a clothesline and nailed a belly to back suplex. The champ went to the top and nailed a Bombs Away kneedrop for a two count.

Williams went for another running knee in the corner but Abyss caught him and slammed him down by the throat. Abyss scored the pin but Williams got his hand on the ropes to break it. Abyss went under the ring to get Janice, his barbed wire board. The referee went to the outside.

AJ Styles, limping badly, hit the ring and drilled Williams with the TNA TV title belt. Styles looked to be hurting just falling over. Abyss hit the Black Hole slam and scored the pin.

Welcome to the TNA Impact Report on PWInsider.com, as TNA puts the final touches on its build to Genesis this weekend. PWInsider.com will have live, match-by-match coverage of Genesis this Sunday night.

We open with a look back at last week as Mick Foley tried to look out for Ken Anderson’s best interests and Matt Morgan informed Anderson that he would have no choice but to do what he had to do to beat Anderson at Genesis, and then when Morgan, perhaps accidentally, hit Anderson from behind with the discus clothesline.

We head into the Impact Zone where Immortal and Fortune are making their way into the ring for the opening promo. Guess who has the microphone? Easy E starts by wishing everyone a Happy New Year, and Genesis is in three days, and it’s not the end of anything but the beginning of everything for Immortal and everyone else associated with TNA. He has put a bounty on every TNA title they don’t have and put a lot of pressure on the members of Immortal to get them, but that’s because he’s a competitive person and he’s not doing anything that wouldn’t stand up to the scrutiny of a judge. Tonight is a night of champions, so right now he’s going to introduce some important champions. He calls X-Division Champion Jay Lethal out to the ring and Lethal looks hesitant, but Bischoff assures him that, with judges and attorneys watching, he’ll be fine if he gets in the ring. Next up are the TNA World Tag Team Champions, the Motor City Machine Guns. Everyone’s getting entrance music and full entrances, by the way. Last up is TV Champion Douglas Williams. Bischoff thanks them for coming out here and tells that that they may have differences, but all of them earned those titles and he respects that. At Genesis, everyone is looking for nothing less than five star matches, and they want to make this one of the greatest PPVs ever because they all have what it takes to have great matches. In the interest of fairness, he’s going to give them each the opportunity to sharpen their skills to ensure that they’re at the top of their game come Genesis, so he’s going to make some matches for them. Jay Lethal will take on Abyss, and he’ll get to the Guns in a minute, but Williams is going to face Rob Terry. He gets back to the Guns, and they’re going to face AJ Styles and Frankie Kazarian tonight. In the spirit of sportsmanship, he asks that everyone shake hands. The babyfaces seem to go for it and then Immortal beats them up 673-on-4 while Bischoff half-heartedly tells them that this is not what they had in mind and there will be fines. RVD’s music hits and he runs out and almost singlehandedly clears the heels out of the ring. He gets a mic and tells Bischoff that he’s just delaying the inevitable. He’s ready to quit playing games once Bischoff is ready to put his champion in the ring with him, and then demands to know who his opponent will be at Genesis. Bischoff says he’ll tell him when he’s good and ready, but RVD says he’s going to find out tonight even if he has to beat it out of Bischoff’s manipulative ass. Bischoff threatens to send Abyss after him because he tore RVD apart once and he can do it again.

We go backstage to Brother Ray, who says he knows how bad Brother Devon wants to get his hands on him. Devon has been his lackey for 15 years, and he challenges Devon to meet him outside and settle it if he’s man enough, bro.

We go to a video package detailing the history of the Double J MMA Challenge leading into Red bringing his “brother” to Impact last week to challenge Jarrett. Speaking of which…

We go backstage to the Pope, who says that tonight he’s going to call out whoever it is who’s been following Pope around because after being falsely accused last week, he’s going to demand an apology from whoever it may be.

It’s over to Bischoff’s office with Flair and AJ Styles, and Bischoff says he’s really tried to be patient with AJ, but with 72 hours until the PPV and AJ’s job being so simple because all he had to do was soften up the Guns, and- AJ cuts him off and says they’re the champions and it’s not that simple. Flair plays peacemaker and says that all Bischoff wants is for AJ to is be his best, and AJ says that Bischoff wants him to go out there and win every match, and then asks Flair if he, the greatest wrestler who ever lived, won every match, to which Flair says no, but- Bischoff cuts Flair off now, and he says it’s not about Flair, it’s about AJ and what he needs to get done and he has three days to get the job done, or else. AJ asks or else what, and Bischoff says he doesn’t want to find out. Flair motions to AJ to let it go as AJ storms out of the office.

We go back to the ring where Pope says that someone has been following him around with a video camera while he’s been tending to his business on his own time, and he doesn’t know what this person has been doing, but Pope’s Congregation stands strong behind him and trusts him with their lives and hard earned money because they respect their Pope. Pope says that whoever it is that’s been videotaping Pope, he demands they come out and face Pope face to face. Samoa Joe’s music hits, and he comes out to the ring as Pope stands there with his jaw on the floor. Joe says that too many people come out here and lie and pretend to be something they’re not, and Pope tells the people that he’s a street saint, but from what Joe’s seen, he’s a scumbag because he tells people that he’s out there helping the people when he’s not wrestling, but we saw him in a strip club in the nipple booth, and then he asks the boys backstage for money for the needy, but he checked all the local charities and none of them got their money, so he wonders what kinds of goods Pope was really buying. And finally, he goes to the local shelter and gets puppies for the children, but none of the orphanages have puppies and Pope’s has 37 noise complaints at his house. so Joe wants to know, is Pope relaly a street saint or a scumbag? Crowd chants scumbag at Pope, but Pope asks Joe how dare he come out here and pass judgment on him, because he’s been judged all his life and he doesn’t need some Samoan coming out here to judge him. He went to the strip clubs to tell the girls that they don’t need to be up there to make a buck and get themselves through college, and when he went to the orphanage they had a Charlie Brown Christmas tree and he needed to give them hope, and he rescued those dogs because they’re great company and he wanted to save them from the killers at the kennel. Pope’s not new to this game, but Pope wants Joe to know that next time he comes out and makes accusations about Pope, he’d better check himself before he wrecks himself because the next time he does, they’re going to have a problem. Pope has spoken, and he drops the mic and leaves the ring. Really intense segment, and it’s interesting the way they brought Joe back and had him cast doubt on the Pope’s character.

Mickie James and Velvet Sky are backstage, and they’re…WALKING!

We go backstage to Brother Devon who says that if Bubba challenged him to a fight in the parking lot, that’s fine because he got suckered in by Bubba’s retirement angle and then Bubba turned on him. Now excuse him, because he’s got some ass kicking to do.

Time for Knockouts action…

Madison Rayne & Sarita vs Mickie James & Velvet Sky

Eric Bischoff’s office as Rob Van Dam is complaining to Bischoff that Jeff Hardy is walking around with HIS title, and tells him to sign the match for Genesis. Bischoff tells RVD to forget about the title for now because his moment is tonight and he needs to focus on that. This is news to RVD, who wants to know who he’s wrestling tonight, and Bischoff says he’s still figuring that out. RVD says he’s managed to avoid mindgames for his entire career, but now he’s got to deal with Bischoff. He’s going to kick this guy’s ass, then kick Jeff Hardy’s ass, and then Bischoff will see what happens next.

Back to the ring…

Douglas Williams vs Rob Terry

Brother Ray is backstage, and he’s…WALKING! And he’s got security with him as he prepares for his street fight with Brother Ray.

Matt Morgan is backstage and says he’s never won a World Title, but for three seconds, all he’s got to do is hold the champion’s shoulders down for three seconds, and his friends who have done it said it’s the greatest feeling in the world. He’s not just a pro wrestler, he’s a keynote speaker for DARE, adults with ADD, and does it to give back, and when he’s the champion, he’s not going to change a thing. We then go to Jeff Hardy, who says that Ken Anderson is an asshole and Morgan is the Greenprint (ooooh!) and he doesn’t think they have what it takes to beat him and he’s just going to stick to his guns. Anderson says it’s a given that Immoral (not Immortal, Immoral) is going to get involved. It’s been time for a change in direction for a long time, and he’s sick and tired of seeing those guys and he’s going to do something about it, and it might not be anytime soon, but he promises that he’s going to take care of it. Morgan says a rematch with Hardy would mean a new World Champion and that would mean everything to him because he beat Jeff fair and square twice, and he knows Hardy fears him, but the thing he’s learned is that Jeff will hit the Twist Of Hate anywhere at anytime, so he needs to look out for that because Jeff’s at a totally different level and Morgan needs to expect the unexpected. Hogan and Bischoff may be the puppeteers, but Jeff’s doing stuff on his own here. Jeff lulls people into a false sense of confidence and will take a beating for ten minutes if he needs to just to set someone up for that Twist Of Hate out of nowhere. Anderson says he doesn’t know if he’s be a good champ and doesn’t care because he just wants to be A champ. He didn’t come here to make friends of be the face of the company, he did it to make money, win championships, and travel the world, and every so often you meet someone you become great friends with, but that doesn’t always have a fairytale ending.

We go out to the parking lot where Brother Ray is going face to face with Brother Ray…or he would be if it weren’t for the ten or so security guys standing between them and holding Devon back as Bubba eggs him on. Bubba calls Devon his lackey and his bitch and tells him to go home. Devon calls him a coward and starts to walk away, and Bubba says that his problem is that he used to be tough but now he’s a coward and a (bleep). Not sure what he said but it was enough to make Devon come at him again. Security holds him back, so Bubba gets a cheap kick and Devon goes down like a ton of bricks. Bubba tells him that he could kick him in the back of the head right now, but will settle for just warning Devon not to show up to Genesis and to just go home to his wife and five kids.

Back to Bischoff’s office, as Jeff Jarrett is telling him that he’s got a game plan for Genesis and he’s going to go train. Bischoff says before he goes, he has a problem Jarrett can solve: he needs to get rid of RVD. Jarrett says that after this Sunday, he’ll take care of him, but Bischoff says he needs him to do it tonight. Jarrett says he’s happy to do double duty, but Angle is out there somewhere. Bischoff says Angle got his exhibition match and he should be happy, so just go out there and take care of RVD.

Mike Tenay and Taz send us to a video package running down the card for Genesis this weekend, and then we go to a sitdown interview earlier today with Mike Tenay talking to Matt Morgan and Ken Anderson. Tenay talks about how Morgan threw away a lifetime opportunity with Fortune for him, and Anderson says he thanked him andwonders how much longer he’s going to have to hear about it. Tenay says that if Anderson doesn’t compete in the match this weekend, he’s out of the title picture entirely, and Morgan says that Bischoff’s enjoying playing games, but Anderson’s got a family to feed and he understands why Anderson’s doing what he’s doing. Tenay starts to ask Anderson about his family, but Anderson says that he’s not going to talk about his family, and if he were in Morgan’s shoes he’d mind his own business. Anderson says he took two months off and if the doctor has cleared him, he’s ready to get back in the ring. Morgan says we haven’t seen any doctor’s clearance and asks who has seen it. Tenay says he’s interviewed every big name in the business, but Anderson is the one guy he can’t get a read on, and asks if he’s working everyone. Anderson says maybe, but they’ll never know until he steps in the ring at Genesis because he IS going to get in the ring at Genesis and assholes always finish first. Morgan says if Anderson goes through with this, the gloves are off because Morgan has no choice, and Anderson can look forward to two things this weekend: Red Cross Hospital, Carbon Footprint, and graveyard. That was actually three things, but we’ll let it go.

Lethal ducks behind Abyss and gets a waistlock, but Abyss just shrugs him off and stares him down. Lethal tries a single leg, but Abyss just picks him up and tosses him across the ring. Lethal circles Abyss and gets another waistlock, and Abyss spins around to nail him and Lethal just punches him in the face, then ducks another shot and hits a chop. Abyss grabs him by teh head and shoves him into the corner, but Lethal dodges out of the way and goes for a springboard crossbody and Abyss catches him. Lethal slips out of Abyss’ grip and kicks the leg, hits a leaping enziguiri, and starts firing away with punches and hits the handspring elbow to stagger Abyss, then a missile dropkick finally sends him down and Lethal covers for 2. Lethal goes tothe top rope but Abyss catches him and slams him completely across the ring. Abyss waits for Lethal to get up and tries a charge in the corner, Lethal ducks under and comes off the ropes and Abyss catches him with a big Black Hole Slam. Abyss hesitates before covering and pulls Lethal up at 2, then puts him in the corner and just beats him down with right after right and then chokes him out with his boot. JoJo counts Abyss and reaches 5 and disqualifies Abyss.

JoJo tries to get Abyss off of Lethal and Abyss shoves him out of the way. Frankie Kazarian slowly walks down to the ring with a big smile of his face, he’s got a mic and tells Abyss to stop for the love of God because he’s hurting Lethal. He tells Abyss to leave some for him, since he can’t beat Lethal at Genesis if he doesn’t have a pulse. This was designed to be a highly competitive warmup match and that’s what they delivered. Kazarian asks Lethal to please stand up, and of course Lethal is still out cold on the mat. Abyss hauls Lethal’s limp form to his feet, and Kazarian says it’ll be a pleasure getting in the ring with him at Genesis and he would like to shake his hand. Abyss grabs Lethal’s arm and places his hand in Kazarian’s, they shake and Abyss drops Lethal as they walk away.
